General Information
Due to the fact that there is not enough information onYemen in Europe.
We have prepared some information for tourists whom may be interested in visiting Yemen.
We have also done our best for this information to be brief and helpful.

CURRENCY & EXCHANGE
The Yemeni Rail is the official currency unit, it comes in (5, 10 & 20 Rails coins) and 50, 100, 200, 500 & 1000 Rails note (Denomination).
We advice our tourists to bring with them USA Dollars or EURO currencies in cash and it should be in big denomination (100$ or 50 $) and should be of new issue over of the year 1999, because exchanging of the small & old denomination, dose not give good rate of exchange as big denominations.
Could exchange the traveler’s Cheques in Sana’a with 3-5% commission
THE DESERT GUIDE (BEDOUIN)
He is the person (Bedouin) who accompany the tourists group when they are crossing the desert from Marib to Sey’un or from Sey’un to Marib, and he also sleeps with the tourists when they stop overnight camping (tents) in the desert
SHAHARA MOUNTAIN’S CAR
The route from the Mountain of Shahara village (which is on top of the mountain) is hard.
So we use special cars (Pick-up car) for taking tourists to the top of the mountain to visit the village of Shahara.
RESTAURANTS FOODS
There are superior high class restaurants in the major cities that present the western &eastern food. There are also the typical, tourists and fast food restaurants, where tourist could have fast food.
There are also during your visit some typical restaurants along the main routs travelling (High way). There are also restaurants wherever going tents such as near of the coast of Bir Ali Khawkha where tourists could have something to eat. Self-catering is available, when going camping in the desert or in Al-Khuraybah village we will cook with the help of tourists.
MAIN CITIES IN YEMEN
Sana’a: the political capital city of Yemen.
Aden, Mukalla Hodeidah: the main Harbor (ports) of Yemen and biggest cities in Yemen.
Taiz, Ibb, Sey’un, Hajjah, Mahwit and Sa’ada are the major an ancient cities in Yemen.

There are several airlines flying to the Yemeni international airport as like:

HOTELS RESERVATIONS (BOOKING)
The hotels Reservations is done by us and booking depend on the season:
1) The very high season: from date 20 December to date 10 January
The Reservation should be done by 4 months in advance.
2) The high season: from date 20 July to 30 April.
The Reservation should be done by 2 months in advance.
3) The low season: from 1 May to 19 July
The Reservation should be done by 1 month in advance.
** The final confirmation or cancellation for reservation should be done by 25 days before the arrival date to Yemen. Return Contents

ENTRY VISA TO YEMEN:
The Countries, which have no diplomatic representation in Yemen, also have no diplomatic representation for Yemen in these countries.
We can arrange for entry visa to Yemen for those countries citizens, we can do it in Sana’a for the individual or groups, all you have to do is to send a photocopy of the passport by fax or email to us, 15 days before arrival and has include the following information:-
1. Full name. 2. Nationality. 3. Passport Number. 4. Sex male or female. 5. The dates of the passport issue expiry.
The Eroupean Union citizens could obtain the visa from Sana’a airport when he/she arrival.
THE TOUR GUIDES:
We have in our agency well-trained tourist guides who speak fluent: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and they have good knowledge on the tourist areas in Yemen and they have a good background history about Yemen. Return Contents
TRANSPORTATION:
The vehicles of transportation will be as following:-
  • Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4 cars with driver, a car for every 4 person.
  • Buses included air-condition with driver, a bus for every 45 – 50 persons.
  • Micro-buses with driver, a bus for every 10 – 12 persons.
  • At the airport service office is offered continuously throughout the whole country, starting from arrival day until the date of departure.
GENERAL ADVICES TO TOURISTS:
1. We advise the tourists that don't drink the water from tap and to drink the mineral water, which the tourist can buy it's bottles from the markets here.
2. We advise the tourists to bring the swimsuit with them, because there are clean very nice Beaches for swimming here in Yemen such as Bir Ali and Khawkha. Return Contents
ALCOHOLIC DRINK:
Allowed to bring one bottle of alcohol drink for each person with free tax in Sana’a airport.
TAKING PHOTOS ELECTRICITY:
Tourist are allowed to take photos any where in Yemen except:
- Military sites (Places).
- Women without permission in advance from them.
- The electricity voltage is 220 volt.
SHOPPING:
There are many shopping places in Yemeni cities where tourists could do their shopping. In this shopping places the tourist will find many different of goods, Electronics, camera films, cloths, fruits, vegetables…etc.
There are also markets in Sana’a, Taiz, Hadramout Sa’ada where souvenir, silver hand made things are sold.
CLOTHING:
A certain physical adaptation to climate is required. In the southern regions and along the coasts, light clothes are used around the year.
While in the northern regions and in the highlands heavy clothes are used in winter and light clothes in summer. Return Contents
